Pairing (This typically solves a large number of issues that customers may have with Bluetooth headsets: :

Q: How do I “Pair” my B150 headset to my cell phone?

A: Please make sure that you have already placed the headset on the charger for at least 12 full, uninterrupted hours before proceeding.

The first step in the “Pairing” process is to make sure the headset is powered off. There will be no flashing lights on the headset

To power off, press and hold the Multi-Function button until you hear three descending tones in the receiver. There should be no flashing lights on the headset. Monitor the headset for at least ten seconds to ensure that there are no lights flashing.

Next, power up the headset. Press and hold in the Multi-Function button until you hear three ascending tones, followed by two more additional tones. The Multi-Function button should now be flashing alternating red and yellow lights. The headset is now in “Pairing” mode.

Next, go to the Bluetooth section on your cell phone and select Search for Device or Add New Device to begin searching for the headset. When Bluetooth devices are discovered, icons should appear under “ Add New Device”.

Select the BTHS icon and press the “Pair” key if available to pair the BTHS to the cell phone.

You may be prompted to enter in a “Pass Key Code” on your phone, which is 0000. Enter this code and you should see an indication that the Bluetooth has identified the BTHS (BlueTooth HeadSet) and connected to it. If there is an option to connect to BTHS, press Yes.

Once connected, the red and yellow lights, on the headset, will now turn to a single flashing yellow light, which flashes every four seconds or so. This is “Stand-by” mode.

Press the Multi-Function button one more time (do not hold in), you will hear a single tone and you will set the headset into “Talk” mode. The yellow light will now flash about every second.

You are now ready to make a call.

When your call is completed, simply place the headset back onto the charger to ensure that a good consistent charge is being offered to the headset.

NOTE: There are many different cellular phones out on the market and is not practical to try and detail pairing instructions for every cell phone on this site. Each phone may have different menus, settings, and paths necessary to establish the Bluetooth connection to your headset. The instructions listed, are general instructions only, and if more information is needed, please consult your cell phones manufacturer or user manual.

Batteries and Charging:

Q :I have just purchased a BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK wireless headset. How long should I let the battery charge before I use it?

A. Before first time operation, the headset battery must be charged undisturbed for 12 full hours. Please refer to the B150-TK product manual for more information regarding charging and use.

Q: How will I know if my headset battery is fully charged?

A: When the headset is fully charged, the indicator light on the headset will turn green. After use, this light will turn red when it is placed back on the charger, indicating less than a full charge. It is not necessary to wait for the light to turn green before using the headset (excluding the initial charging cycle). Remove headset from charger when you wish to stop charging the headset.

Q: When should I recharge the battery in my headset?

We recommend that you charge the headset whenever the headset is not in use. If you hear the low battery warning (the headset earpiece emits either a double beep every thirty seconds or a series of melodic tones like an incoming call) discontinue use and recharge the headset for 4 hours.

Q: What if I ignore the low battery warning while on a call using my headset with a cell phone?

A: If you ignore the headset low battery warning while connected to a cell phone, the Bluetooth link between the headset and cell phone will be terminated without any other warning. The cell phone connection to the other party will not be lost.

Q: What can I do to extend the battery life of my BlueParrott Roadwarrior wireless headset?

A: To extend the battery life of your headset, follow these simple, very important guidelines.
- When the headset is not in use, either completely shut the headset off or leave the headset on the charging base or gateway with the power connected.
- Place the headset on the charging base or gateway as soon as you hear the low battery warning tones or you are getting towards the end of your typical "talk time". .

Q: Can I leave/store my BlueParrott Roadwarrior headset on the charger or gateway even when there is no power connected to them?

A: No. Leaving the headset on the charger or gateway when they are not connected to power will drain the headset battery. If the headset will not be used for an extended period of time, VXI recommends turning the headset completely off. The headset can be left on the charger or gateway as long as the charger or gateway is plugged in to a power source.

Q: Will extreme temperatures affect my headset battery life?

A: Extreme hot and cold temperatures will affect the battery life of your headset. Leaving the headset in hot or cold places, such as in a closed car in summer or winter conditions, reduces the capacity and lifetime of the battery. Always try to keep the headset between 32 and 110 degrees F (0 and 43 degrees C).

Q: Can I change my own battery on the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK? How do I get a new battery?

A: The battery is expected to last a year or more. But when it does run out, you may replace the battery yourself by performing just a few simple steps. You may order a replacement battery from VXI Corporation only. Currently, please call 800-742-8588 or click on the link to purchase a battery. It will ship with replacement instructions. Click here for a copy of replacement instructions.

Q: Where is the battery compartment on the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset? How do I change the battery when it is low?

A: The battery compartment is located on the headset in the lower left hand corner behind the ear cup. There are several small screws that you will need to remove. To install a new battery simply replace the battery that is there.Click here for additional replacement instructions. top

Q: Do I need to charge my BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK for a full 12 hours after installing a new battery?

A: Yes, the new battery needs to be charged for a full 12 hours prior to using the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset. After that, the headset will continue to charge any time it is mounted in the base.
The headset indicator light will show red when the headset is charging. Green indicates a full charge. It is ok to use your headset when it is red.top

Q: What if my headset light turns green before 12 hours?

A: A few BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headsets may initially exhibit a green light before the battery is completely charged, which may result in less than normal talk time. This typically occurs during initial use and can be easily remedied by conditioning the battery. To do this, simply remove the headset from the charging base. Activate the headset by pressing the multifunction button one time. Verify that the headset is active by checking to see that there is a flashing yellow light. Allow the headset to stay in this mode for about 4 hours. Place the headset back in the base and charge the headset for 12 full hours. This will reset the battery and will give it a full charge. This will only need to be done one time.

Q: Can I over charge my battery?

A: No. You cannot over charge or damage the battery when you leave it in the charger. top

Q: After I use my headset and return it to the base, the multifunction button is red. Is this ok to use it?

A: Yes. Red simply indicates that it is in charging mode. It does not need to go to green (except during initial installation) to use the headset. You may continue to use it as you normally would. When the battery runs low, you may hear a double beep in your earpiece every 30 seconds or so. Also, whey the headset is off the base and the battery is low, the multifunction button will flash red every few seconds. Simply reconnect the headset for charging. top

Q: How do I dispose of my batteries?

A: Unlike some other Bluetooth headsets on the market, the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK uses Nickel metal hydride batteries which are generally safer to dispose of. Please see your disposal regulations in the area in which you live for more information. top

Q: How do I care for my BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK?

A: To clean the headset or base, you may simply wipe them down with a slightly damp cloth. We do not recommend exposing the headset or base to extremely hot or cold temperatures, like those often incurred in autos. top

Q: Is the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK safe to use?

A: Since the power on the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK is generally lower than both cordless and cellular phones, the radio frequency exposure is generally much lower than using either of these devices. top

Q: How can I improve how I sound while talking on the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK?

A: The BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK utilizes a professional grade noise canceling microphone. To get the best performance from this microphone, check these two things:
1. The microphone has the word "TALK" or a small dot imprinted on it under the microphone cushion. This mark must face your mouth.
2. For good quality voice input and effective background noise cancellation, be sure to position the microphone a finger's width away from your face, just below your bottom lip. top

Q: I am having trouble getting the full range with my BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK. Why? What can I do to improve range?

VXI’s BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK is designed using Bluetooth technology. The range of communication distance between the BlueParrott B10 headset and a Bluetooth cellular phone is approximately 30 feet. Certain environmental conditions can inhibit radio wave transmission, such as metal beams within your walls. If you have these types of materials where you are, your range may be reduced to less than suggested with the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK. As this is a function of the Bluetooth technology, this would also occur with any Bluetooth wireless product. Headset audio quality will degrade and sound noisy when you travel out of range. If this happens, simply move closer to the connected device.top

Q: My headset sounds too loud or quiet.

A: You may either adjust the volume level in your ear by depressing the lower two volume buttons on the side of the headset. The middle button is volume up. The bottom button is volume down. If you are using a cellular phone or computer or office phone, you can also adjust the volume on that device.top

Q: Occasionally I hear static or a choppy sound on my BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset?

A: If you hear a continuous or low level sound, it is likely it is simply a function of the Bluetooth technology and would occur to some degree in any Bluetooth headset. Fortunately, the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK has enhanced antennas which should eliminate much of those sounds. Yet, because the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK uses such high quality speakers and microphones, it is likely that that sound may be slightly more apparent to some users. If it is more intermittent, you may be getting out of range. top

Q: Can I use my BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset with my laptop?

A: You can use the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset with a laptop or PC that is Bluetooth enabled. If you computer is not Bluetooth enabled, you may purchase a "Bluetooth adapter” that makes your computer Bluetooth enabled. This is available at most electronics and computer stores and websites. To use the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset you would simply pair it with the Bluetooth enabled computer the same way as you would a Bluetooth cell phone. Refer to your laptop's Bluetooth Instructions for relevant pairing and proper sound setup.See the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK User's manual for more information on getting the headet into pairing mode. top

Q: Does the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK work the same way with all Bluetooth cellular phones?

A: The idea of Bluetooth technology is that you should be able to pair your BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset with any mobile phone that supports the handsfree or headset profiles. Note- our headset uses a passcode of 0000, you need to use a cellular phone that can accept that passcode and can change their passcode to 0000. Because mobile phones are made by different manufacturers their features can change therefore the pairing steps may be different from phone to phone. On some phones, you may have to delete former pairings in order to pair with the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK. top

Q: How does the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK deal with pairing to multiple devices?

A: Currently the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset will pair with up to 3 devices. When receiving an incoming call, it will accept the first to call. Unfortunately, when making outbound calls, it will initiate the call over the phone last used, and pairing will be lost on the other two phones. Therefore, it is not recommended to use multiple headsets or multiple phones at the same time with the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK. top

Q: My cell phone has voice dialing. How does the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK interact with it?

A: If you plan to use the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset regularly with your cell phone’s voice dialing feature, it is best to initially save your voice tags using the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset.

If you wish to alternate using the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK headset and calling directly into the phone, you will get the best accuracy if you record each tag two times- one with the headset and one without. Simply name them differently. For instance Name= “Bob Smith Headset” for the one created with the headset, and Name= “Bob Smith phone” for the one created with the phone.

Also, by using longer names on your voice tags, it will increase the likelihood that the cellular phone will be able to accurately recognize the name you are speaking. For instance it is more likely to recognize “Valerie Smith” over “Val Smith”.top

Q: Can I change the passcode on my BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK?

A: No. The BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK’s passcode is preset to 0000 and cannot be changed.top

Q: Which Bluetooth profiles does the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK support?

A: The BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK supports both the handsfree and headset profiles. top

Q: It seems to take a long time for my Headset to find other devices for making calls.

A: The headset and base may respond faster if you eliminate any unused and unneeded devices from the list of paired devices on the headset or cellular phone. See the devices manual for instructions on how to unpair the unneeded devices. Also, there may be interference in the environment that you are using the BlueParrott Roadwarrior B150-TK. It may be useful to distance yourself from any metal or wireless devices. top

Q: When paired to a cellular phone, either the phone or headset aren’t responding like they should be.

A: You may need to power the phone off and then on again. Just like rebooting typically resets a PC when your computer is acting up, restarting the phone will also help eliminate some problems. top
