How do I set the Compatibility Settings on the VXI Everon?

The VXI Everon is easy to set up for compatibility. For most phones, you simply insert two AA batteries and set the switches to A-4. If you have the below listed phone systems, you will not need batteries please set the compatibility settings as follows:

Troubleshooting

In the unlikely event that your telephone system does not work with the above settings, please follow the instructions below to discover the correct setting for your phone.

  1. Put headset on.
  2. Lift handset from cradle to obtain a dial tone.
  3. Adjust receive volume.
  4. Try all settings:
    • A-1, A-2, A-3, A-4
    • B-1, B-2, B-3, B-4.
  5. Listen to dial tone as you go and choose the best sounding setting.

How do I utilize the Direct Plug-in Observer Port Feature on the Everon?

The VXI Passport Everon amplifier is designed with a direct plug-in observer port feature. This is great for training situations when a supervisor needs to listen but not be heard by the customer. Simply connect a VXI Observer Headset into the port on the back of the Everon labeled with a "GN". This allows the observer to hear both sides of the conversation. When ordering a VXI Observer Headset (#200547), please remember to order the QD1027 lower cord (#30005).

I am using a Northern Telecom ACD-1 with a 2216 Station. I need to know how to program my VXI Passport headset.

1. Plug headset in port nearest the front of the phone.

2. Press the program key then touch 10 on the phone's dial pad. This is the transmit program. The handset/headset program will appear by displaying a 123 with a cursor flashing beside one of the numbers. The number 1 program establishes compatibility with the VXI Passport Link headset. To move the cursor to position 1, touch 1 on the phone's dial pad then touch program again. The transmit program is now set.

3. To obtain maximum receive volume, touch program again then 00 on the dial pad. The receive program will appear displaying 1234 with a cursor flashing beside on of the numbers. The number 4 program establishes maximum volume for VXI headsets. To move the cursor, touch number 4 on the dial pad, then program again. The receive program is now set. You are now able to adjust your volume up and down by suing your volume rocker bar.

4. For the best performance, the gain on the SL-1 SWITCH should be set at 57.75 Db.

*Note If you prefer personal transmit or volume control, utilize the VXI Passport Everon Amplifier.
