This is a mid-level engineering position within the engineering group. As a versatile member of the engineering group, the Application Engineer will show proficiency and application of software and hardware practices. The Application Engineer is responsible for designing and architecting unified communication headsets that utilize both wired and wireless technologies, including both new and sustaining products. They will also be responsible for researching emerging technologies and applying both existing and developing technologies to our competitive advantage. The Application Engineer will work with Product Management to create product definitions and work within a cross functional team to bring new products and product enhancements to market.

Reporting to VXi’s Engineering Manager, the Application Engineer will be responsible for directing and carrying out the following items:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Design enhancements to and develop complex, advanced noise reducing headset communication systems for both new and existing products
  • Designing, developing/coding, debugging and maintenance of system validation software
  • Strong understanding of embedded internals and various debugging techniques
  • As assigned by management, lead specific product development, code feasibility research, and system architecture initiatives
  • Research and development of emerging techniques, industry trends, processes, approaches and patentable technologies
  • Serves as engineer on product development teams, contributes to conceptual product development
  • Application and definition of technologies to meet product requirements
  • Working alongside Senior engineers, improve or create complex microprocessor firmware designs, complex microprocessor board designs, along with detailed follow through and execution
  • Solve complex technical problems both at a theoretical level and at a hands-on level, including system optimization of products
  • Demonstrate strong problem solving skills and communication skills, including the writing of technical reports
  • Participates on a technically focused team that researches a technology roadmap, and meets schedule commitments
  • Assist project management with project schedules and budgets

Qualifications:

  • BS degree or equivalent in electrical engineering, computer science, or similar field of study
  • 4+ years of relevant technical experience
  • Experience in digital interfaces such as USB, RS 232, SPI, I2C
  • Familiarity with various bug tracking and version control systems as well as a background in C, C#, C++, Assembly, or Labview preferred
  • Capable in digital hardware design skills, microprocessor applications, schematic capture, knowledgeable in best layout practices, and firmware development for such systems
  • Demonstrated ability to innovate
  • Strong engineering skills, capable of wearing many hats in a small and dynamic engineering team
  • Display solid interpersonal skills including strong written and verbal communication capabilities, both locally and with remote design teams

The typical day of an Inside Sales Representative includes:

  • 40% New business development activities (phone calls, emails, strategizing etc)
  • 25% Existing business development activities (phone calls, emails, strategizing etc)
  • 20% Communicate with VXi’s channel partners and Outside Sales Team regarding account and territory development

Responsibilities include:

The Regional Sales Manager’s objective is to drive and manage the growth of VXi revenue in the specified territory. Working with strategic end users, distributors and resellers, your goal is to create and close new sales opportunities for VXi telephone headset products, through end users and channel partners.

Major Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include conducting end user sales calls to present VXi products and solutions for their requirements. You will also be responsible for conducting product training, sales training, and making joint sales calls to strategic end user accounts with our channel partners. You will be responsible for signing up new channel partners.

The Regional Sales Manager will develop new end user business with a primary focus on converting accounts that have competing product installed. You will manage and utilize the resources available to target the accounts including your own lead generation results, VXi inside sales team, their leads, as well as channel partner referrals to target new end user opportunities.

We are dealing with enterprise-level deal sizes, so our RSMs travel as much as 75%. Travel could be locally as well as overnight (3 or 4 days per week at peak times).

Qualifications:

  • An established track record selling hardware/software, telephony or telecom products (i.e. wireless devices, unified communications, VoIP, PBX, Call Center solutions, video conferencing etc.)
  • 5+ years Field/Outside Sales experience; 10+ years preferred
  • Documented successful track record as an Regional Sales Manager or National Account Manager in a role with quota achievement and performance metrics accountability
  • Experienced in solution selling with multi buyer types including C-Level Executives
  • Experience with an indirect sales model is preferred – Having existing channel or reseller relationships is a plus
  • Ability to set individual daily and weekly priorities
  • Experience with contact management software

This is a front line position for a can do, upbeat, self-starter that can take on any task and make it happen with minimal supervision.  This position provides proactive customer support as well as pre/post-sales technical support for VXi’s Distributors, Enterprise Customers, individual End-User Clients and internal departments. 

As a liaison between customers, sales, engineering, product marketing, and operations, this person will have a significant impact on customer experience and overall support operations.

This role focuses in particular on Cisco, Avaya and Polycom products and how these products interface with VXi technology from a variety of perspectives, including installation, product updates, firmware & software considerations and/or device connectivity.

The role also involves reviewing, developing and implementing support procedures required to effectively support Unified Communication and new product projects.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years of technical support experience in a telephony or unified communication setting.
  • Prior familiarity with Cisco, Avaya and/or Polycom products.
  • Strong technical aptitude and the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • A positive, friendly and outgoing personality.
  • Outstanding organizational skills.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • 2- or 4-year degree in a technical discipline is preferred.
