The Blessings of Liberty

In the United States, liberty—the state of being free from oppressive restrictions—is considered a fundamental right. In fact, it’s one of the founding principles of this country, right there in the Preamble to the U. S. Constitution. And it’s a big favorite of “we, the People.” We love old Patrick Henry’s “Give me liberty or give me death!” Yeah, that’s what we’re talking about!

But somehow, once we get into the workforce, the idea goes out the window. First of all, you’re basically chained to your desk. You pretty much have to be there. After all, what if someone calls? And when someone does call, or when you call someone else, you’re really stuck. Restricted to the 3-foot radius dictated by the telephone cord. Need a file over there? Forget about it. You can barely get a file out of your desk drawer, because you’ve only got one hand. It’s the 21st century, and you’re still holding on to that old handset, as though there were no other choice! (No, propping it oh-so-comfortably between your head and shoulder is NOT a choice.)

But there is a choice. A great choice. A simple choice. The telephone headset. Simple, elegant—and effective. Just plug it in, put it on (you can even get a choice of wearing styles), position the microphone boom, and you’re good to go. Today’s headsets are lightweight and comfortable, and they sound great, both to you and the person on the other end of the call. So they cover all the bases of an old handset, but they also free your hands. Hey, look at you! You’ve got two hands, and you’re free to use them. You can write, type, check on an order, dig into a drawer…you’re not a one-hand wonder anymore!

Now if only you could get up out of your chair.

You can. You just need a wireless headset. With no wire to restrict you, a wireless headset secures the blessings of liberty for you. Your hands are free to work, and your feet are free to take you wherever the work is—with a VXi V100 wireless headset, for example, you can go as far as 300 feet from your desk, and keep the conversation going. Now you’re talking, and walking, and still working.

So stand up for liberty, and get yourself a headset.
